Ryan Kaskel

I am a 22 year old student/developer/consultant. I specialize in laying out the technical options for "laypeople" in charge of small businesses or organizations. This can involve anything from helping someone register a domain and setting up hosting to migrating or optimizing a Wordpress instance. I particularly enjoy network programming in Python and working with the Django web application framework. I can create custom Django applications to a specification or transfer existing websites to my consulting company RyanKaskel.com Internet Consulting's powerful, user friendly, and most importantly scalable platform called POWER. POWER is a collection of Django apps plus "glue" written primarily by me but also others. I only selectively take jobs because I wish to join the Peace Corps where I hope I will to able to teach East African children basic computing skills.

I am a senior at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts majoring in history. My primary fields of interest are the devlopment of Christianity in northwest Europe in the early to later Middle Ages and concurrent peasant attitudes toward spirituality and the world in general. In addition, I am in interested in Biblical textual criticism, early theological developments in Christianity, and the philosophy of history.

Another field of interest is the history of southern Africa before, during, and after European colonization in the latter half of the nineteenth century. In addition, I enjoy studying praise poetry and other oral paradigms of historical tradition in Africa.

I natively speak English, am proficient in Spanish and am learning Swahili.
